Solution Development

Custom web development is one of ESS’ main services. We evaluate student and faculty needs through goal and process analyses to develop solutions for many departments and to inform technology purchases.

Our applications are also available as open-source software. The following is a list of the software that we have written:


An application specifically for Financial Aid. Check-in manages and schedules student walk-ins for the counselors, ensuring that no question is overlooked.


A full-featured web application which allows students to apply for and manage their residence hall assignments. Administrative features allow staff to view student information, manage housing applications for upcoming terms, track room assignments, manage Residential Learning Communities, and more.

Internship Inventory

A web application developed for managing student internship experiences and to allow faculty members to track the approval workflow for each internship. Features are in place to enforce State Authorization Rules, generate and store internship contracts, allow for easy access of emergency contact information, and allow reporting on previous internships.

Off-Campus Properties Search

An application developed to aid students and property managers and owners in off-campus housing options. Features allow students to find roommates and post subleases anonymously, as well as allows property managers and owners to advertise off-campus housing. 


An advanced ticketing system that allows tracking of student or parent contacts and issues. Provides useful metrics and workflow management.


The Student Developmental Task and Lifestyle Assessment is used nationally to examine college student’s life purpose, relationships, and autonomy. Testing Services handles the contacts and grades the results. ESS created and maintains the online testing device.


Titanium provides electronic scheduling and case note management for the Counseling Center.


A career management software that allows students to apply for on-campus interviews and employers to view student resumes. Also provides web-based student resume help and national job postings.


Time clock software for student workers in University Housing, University Recreation, and the Student Union.
